Local residents in my division are rightly concerned about the reduction in bus services. Cornwall Council has a subsidy policy to assist those areas that have a need but for one reason or another are not fully profitable for bus operators.
At a time when there are cuts to those services I was concerned to see from Cornwall Council's own figures that they have increased expenditure on their own vehicles since the new administration took office.
In a like-for-like period from June to December they have increased expenditure on all vehicles by nearly 30% and personal vehicles by over 40%. There appears to be less money for the bus services but there is more money for council vehicles. Is that fair?
