Old Richard Lander School site

I was a bit underwhelmed by Taylor Wimpey's exhibition on proposals for Old Richard Lander School site (West Briton 11October).

To find out more please look at their website (incorrect in West Briton)- www.richardlanderschool.co.uk - and send them or me your comments.

I understand there is to be 35 per cent affordable housing, not 40 per cent as per website.

I am disappointed that there are no flats for the elderly included because it is not possible to find a better site on flattish land and connected to all facilities.

The Church needs a better deal on parking with some spaces reserved for its own use.  It also needs good access to the food bank.

The public open space needs a bit of a rethink.

I know the extra, say, 400, cars will be a nightmare on Highertown corridor.  However, particularly after my efforts to point up highways issues on proposal for 1500 houses at the western park and ride, I have to be realistic  - this is going to happen.  If you have views on the exit from the development onto A390 please let me know.

Please note that there is a possibility that the hated junction at the end of Newbridge Lane will be traffic lighted as part of this scheme.
